  Dialogue

Dialogue is a kind of communication, in which people explore themselves, each other and what they share. It ideally is characterized by a free exchange of ideas and opinions, without judgment, egotism and bias. As a means of communications, it is highly productive, while it also has certain additional effects, such as heightened team spirit, discovery of motivations, generation and transfer of knowledge and increased commitment.

In dialogue, one is trained to listen to others, also those who one would otherwise have dismissed, to let go (for a moment or longer) of one’s ego issues, to speak freely (paradoxically, ego issues usually prevent people from speaking freely and from discovering themselves), to discover oneself, and to familiarize oneself with new concepts and approaches.

Advantages: faster decisionmaking on a more solid basis

Possible approaches: one could opt for a workshop, where dialogue is experienced and then several short dialogue exoperiences prior to meetings. This may appear as "extra time in meetings", but experience learns that it is a small investment which makes the other time in meeting more efficient.
