Informal logic is about the structure of texts. Aristotle once described two kinds of texts, historical texts and scientific texts; in other words, texts that describe reality, by telling a story, and texts that investigate and explain reality, by seeing how certain known elements lead to other elements.

In the course, texts from the press are used and analyzed for their logical structure.
